NCOG-36. DOSIMETRY AND COGNITIVE FUNCTION AFTER RADIATION THERAPY IN LOW GRADE GLIOMAS

نویسندگان

چکیده

Abstract PURPOSE We found that cognitive function remained stable following radiotherapy with concurrent and adjuvant temozolomide (RT+TMZ) in low-grade glioma (LGG) patients evaluated prospectively up to 2 years. This study evaluates the effects of dosimetry on neurocognitive a larger group molecularly defined LGG treated (RT). METHODS A total 39 were comprehensive psychometric tests at baseline (prior RT) various time intervals RT. Patients served as their own controls by evaluating change scores over time. Dosimetric parameters included mean maximum dose pituitary, hypothalamus, contralateral hippocampus, brain, cochlea, PTV volume. Correlation between assessed Spearman correlation for Cox proportional hazard regression analysis survival analysis. RESULTS followed median 60 months. Overall, showed test similar initial performances all measures. There was significant cochlea (p=0.006), pituitary (p=0.035), volume (0.019) outcome.. CONCLUSION Cognitive prospectivelys. specific dosimetric endpoints outcomes Further needs be done population validate these findings.

Temozolomide and radiation in low-grade and anaplastic gliomas: temoradiation.

Recently completed trials suggest the addition of nitrosourea-based chemotherapy to radiotherapy increases the progression-free but not overall survival of grade II and III gliomas. Temozolomide has proven benefit in grade II/III gliomas progressive following standard therapy and when added to radiation for glioblastoma. Newly launched and planned phase III trials will explore whether the addit...

Cognitive impairments in patients with low grade gliomas and high grade gliomas.

OBJECTIVE The relationship between brain tumors and cognitive deficits is well established in the literature. However, studies investigating the cognitive status in low and high-grade gliomas patients are scarce, particularly in patients with average or lower educational level. This study aimed at investigating the cognitive functioning in a sample of patients with low and high-grade gliomas be...

The role of radiation therapy in the treatment of low-grade gliomas.

High grade gliomas (HGG) account for the majority of primary central nervous system tumors and are infiltrative tumors with microscopic disease extending into the adjacent brain paranchyma, characterized by aggressive growth and poor prognosis. Patients are managed in a multidisciplinary team setting in order to ensure their care is guided by the most current evidenced based treatments. Current...

Diffuse low-grade gliomas

Description : Diffuse low-grade gliomas (WHO grade II) are a sub-group of rare and heterogeneous primary brain tumors that usually occur in young patients living a normal life until the onset of a first seizure. A good understanding of the natural history of these gliomas namely: their steady progression, infiltration along white matter fibers and especially the risk of malignant transformation...

Dynamic imaging response following radiation therapy predicts long-term outcomes for diffuse low-grade gliomas.

Quantitative imaging assessment of radiation therapy (RT) for diffuse low-grade gliomas (DLGG) by measuring the velocity of diametric expansion (VDE) over time has never been studied. We assessed the VDE changes following RT and determined whether this parameter can serve as a prognostic factor. We reviewed a consecutive series of 33 adults with supratentorial DLGG treated with first-line RT wi...
